There are many Sri Chamarajendra Park ornamental and exotic trees and plants lining the roads of Cubbon Park. There are around 68 genera of trees or plants. Bengaluru was under his rule when the park came into existence in 1870. The first name of the park was Meade’s Park, named after Sir John Meade, who was the Acting Commissioner of Mysore in 1870.

Cubbon Park: Landscaped Gardens, Statues & Aquarium in the Heart of Bengaluru

The well laid out walking path in the park makes it an ideal place for joggers who come in huge numbers to get some fresh air. Motorable roads are also laid inside the park that allow light motor vehicles to ply in and out of the park. Another ornamental tree that finds a place in this park is the tropical tree delonix, known more commonly as the gulmohar tree. Cubbon Park also comprises of ornamental trees such as Grevillea Robusta (silver oaks), the first one imported from Australia in the entire of Bangalore. Cubbon park is under the maintenance of Horticulture Department of the Karnataka government.

Along with exotic nature, various statues which have been installed here also attract visitors. I created this website in 2015 to aim to provide accurate information to the visitors. Bengaluru has many public places to visit and Cubbon park is one the most visited place among travelers. Food is allowed inside the park to enjoy a picnic. A nominal entry fee is charged from visitors to enter inside the Cubbon Park Aquarium.
